Here is another musical project from Rousse started years ago by Ico Darka—Darka, unsurprisingly meaning ‘the Dark’—the cyberpunk band Mazut. Along with writing the music, he plays the guitar (and what not!) and is quite a colourful character, whom I remember ever since I was a teenager. Ico frequently visits the capital city of Sofia where he is a regular guest at underground musical events in clubs and at festivals.
Currently the band consists of Ico himself and Dory, the charming blondie that additionally jazzes up their musical and visual performances on stage. I am far from being the greatest cyberpunk fan, but from what I dug up out of my resources and my scattered personal impressions from the couple of their concerts I went to, Mazut is probably the only local musical and visual project that is not afraid to explore the unknown territories of cyberpunk and its related musical styles.
Just like many artists, genuinely attracted and dedicated to music, Ico runs another musical project called Cogwheel Crack, which takes part in the first musical compilation of the Kontingent Records label.
